The Modern Laundry was founded in 1895 by Ernest Roden. In the early days, customer laundry was sent by train to Cincinnati, Ohio for cleaning off-site, before returning to customers via our Maysville storefront.

Shortly after the turn of the 20th century, the Modern Laundry expanded its space to offer on-site wash and dry-cleaning facilities, enabling us to serve our customers right on-site.

Our family-owned and operated business has served Maysville residents and businesses for more than 100 years. Today, Carolyn Kenton, an extended member of the family, and Susie Thornton, a longtime employee of the business, manage operations.
